Keeping Drivers License after an OUI/DUI

Getting your license back after being convicted or charged with OUI is very dependent on your criminal history. If you have a clean record, or have never been charged or convicted of an alcohol fence before, it will be much easier to get your license back sooner as compared to if you have been convicted or charged with OUI in the past.   If this is your first time being charged or convicted with an OUI  your license will be suspended during the court process, and may be suspended if you are convicted after the court process. Meanwhile, you may apply for hardship license only after the court process has ended. There is a lot of strategy involved in keeping your license, and getting your license back quickly. Make sure you are either prepared or hire a lawyer that knows what he or she is doing. Provided below are some documents that the Department of Motor Vehicles provides about keeping your license.
